HURRICANE HELENE
Hurricane Helene has caused a mass amount of damage in communities across WNC, ETN, and the CSRA. Many are displaced, stranded, in need of supplies and medical attention. This has been one of the deadliest hurricanes to hit the U.S since the 1950s. “As a coastal NC native, I grew up witnessing destruction from hurricanes seasonally. Seeing it on this level so far from the coast has been jaw-dropping. Asheville has been a major vacation spot my entire life, and our hearts break for them -as well as all the small towns that are feeling unseen/uncovered by media across our region. While I may not be originally from Appalachia, I’m thankful to be adopted by this area - an area rich in culture with a strong sense of community.” - Lela Featuring our idea of simple tattoo-styled designs, brought to life by TN native Tad, we’ll be producing beanies and shirts that show off pride for this region and our own city. Please consider purchasing a shirt, and/or sharing this post to help our efforts in providing some relief for those affected by Hurricane Helene in our region. All profits from the shirts and beanies will be donated to “Appalachia Funders Network - Helene Response Fund” (@appfundersnetwork). American Apparel Heavyweight shirts and ribbed beanies. Preorders will run through October 31st. Shipping and pickups will begin on Nov 11th. Link in bio. Thanks to Tad for his help in design, mock-ups and connecting it to our website.
